There’s been a lot of debate on whether pro tennis players could play against pro pickleball players and without much training in pickleball, start beating pro pickleball players. When I say play, I really mean start winning pro pickleball events. They can obviously play competitively with pro pickleballers, but the early results have not been good for ex pro tennis players San Querry and Noah Rubin as far as winning.
It’s still early and in my opinion, if pro tennis players dedicated themselves to practicing exclusively pickleball, they could be more competitive. Keep in mind, the pro pickleball players on tour right now have dedicated themselves to the sport for years already, so could the tennis players ever catch up? I think a couple could, but like any other professional sport, it takes years to be at that level.
